Application Process

The Jefferson County Clerk to the Board's office accepts passport applications. Please call first for appointment and important information: 303-271-8191.

If you are in a hurry, you may expedite your application for a $60 fee and receive your passport in approximately two to three weeks.

If you have an emergency situation, traveling in two weeks or less, you may go to the passport office in Aurora to get your passport. You must call first and make an appointment. Contact: 877-487-2778

Passport Requirements

  • One color passport photo, 2 inches by 2 inches
  • Picture identification
  • Proof of citizenship: certified birth certificate, naturalization certificate or previous passport
  • Social Security number (not card) to complete the application

Parental Guidance

Children under age 16 must be accompanied by both parents. A young person between ages 16 and 18 must be accompanied by at least one parent.

Credit and debit cards are not accepted.

You will need two checks or money orders for your application.
