Re: Three Indicted for Theft of Youth Sport’s Association Funds

District Attorney Scott Storey announced today that a grand jury has indicted two women and a man for stealing funds from a nonprofit organization that sponsors a youth football program in Jefferson County.  The Golden Applewood Midget Football Association (GAMFA) is funded through registration fees paid by parents to entitle their children to participate in football activities.

William Edward Hilborne, 45, Kelli Marie Hilborne, 41, and Cheryl Wyckoff, 37, are each accused of one count of felony theft (a class four felony) and one count of conspiracy to commit theft (a class five felony).

Cheryl Wyckoff and the husband and wife duo of William and Kelli Hilborne
were officers on the board of directors for the GAMFA between January 2006 and October 2007.  During that time the Hilbornes are alleged to have stolen over $10,000 of the association’s money.  William and Kelli Hilborne are alleged to have withdrawn cash from the club’s bank account, written checks and used the association’s debit card for their personal use.

In 2006, during a time that Wyckoff served as acting as treasurer for the association, she is alleged to have wrongfully paid out monies belonging to GAMFA.

The indictment was returned on October 23.  The Hilbornes were arrested today in Delta, Colorado.  Kelli Hilborne posted $5,000 bond and has a court appearance in Jefferson County on November 19 at 8:00 a.m.  William Hilborne is still in custody in Delta.  Cheryl Wyckoff will be issued a felony summons.
